The Apple Tree Fund
The Apple Tree Fund is a charitable trust set up in 2001 by a group of parents . In 2001 the governors, teachers and parents were asked what the facility priority for the school would be if money was no object. Overwhelmingly, the school community voted for a new hall that could bring new art, sporting, music and drama facilities to the school and the wider community. In 1954 the original hall was built for the purposes of a school half the size so the new hall was desperately needed.
The Apple Tree Fund set out on the huge task to raise an initial sum of £250,000 to build a new hall to celebrate 50 years of the school (1954 -2004). Through generous pledges and tireless fund-raising the money was raised and the brand new hall was finally completed in Feb 2006.
The PTA has now equipped the hall with everything from curtains to music systems and the hall has become a major feature and cenral hub of the school.
The Apple Tree Fund, now taking a well-earned breather, will be moving back into gear soon to start the new projects for the school, including a new Reception block and new Main Reception.
